Sunday—07 September 2008

We Gather in God’s Name

Welcome                                                                         News-n-Clues

Morning Prayer                                                                ‘Life is Good!’

Holy God of heaven and earth, all around me I see living evidence of your love.  What a blessing!  Life is good right now:  I wish I could live this moment forever.  I wish I could always feel the joy in my heart that discovering the rainbow after a thunderstorm brings … or with the elation produced by waking up for a work day only to find out it’s a holiday.  I am so thankful for this day.  But if I had never lived a bad day, Lord God, how would I know what a day filled with gentle joy feels like?  So today I give thanks for both the good days and the bad days.  Please send your Spriit to help me live this moment to the fullest.  Amen.

To Give God Praise

Call to Worship                                                     “Never Ending Love”

In the beginning – the Holy God of heaven-n-earth walked through the garden with Adam and Eve – because God enjoys being with God’s people.

Even today God’s love remains the same as it was in the beginning:  the Holy One of heaven-n-earth continues to walk beside us because God enjoys being with God’s people.

Realizing that God is here among us … let’s worship and sing together.  May the Holy One cause our hearts to dance; allow our spirits to weep; clear our minds of clutter; and inspire our faith to flow forth without fear.

®Hymn # 476 – verses 1, 2 & 5                         “O Worship The King”

®Call to Prayer                                                        ‘A Memoir of Faith’

We may not be able to hold it in our hands but our soul is real.  We may not know what form our soul will take when our bodies die yet we believe one’s soul lives on.

We believe an important aspect of life is listening to the messages our soul is sending us and then responding to them.  When we are in tune with the voice of “the spirit within”… we feel joy rippling through us like a flowing stream.

Jesus taught true believers to be alive to life.  Remembering how tender and fragile every breath of life is, let’s enter the sacred space of God’s “quiet place” and seek God’s grace:

{… time for personal silent prayer…}
